LOS ANGELES, Calif. – iWantClips kicked off its “Cruel Summer” clip contest today, rewarding artists on the platform with an opportunity to win over $1700 in cash prizes. The contest runs through June 30.

A rep for iWantClips said the contest is “a perfect way to kick off summer and get our fans and Artists engaged in what we think is going to be one of the most exciting summers we’ve had in a while.”

“All iWantClips artists are invited to start the summer holidays with us by uploading their summer themed clips and using the tag Cruel Summer,” the rep explained. “Use this keyword for a chance to win 1 of 3 prizes and appear in our dedicated contest section to receive extra promotion for the entire month of June.”

In its statement announcing the start of the contest, iWantClips said the company looks forward to “seeing all the amazing clips during the month of June and ultimately awarding the top 3 winners cash prizes, including the #1 prize of $1000.”

“Fans can stay up-to-date with contest winners by becoming a free member to receive exclusive company announcements and promotions,” the company added.

According to the company’s announcement, iWantClips will be awarding the 3rd place winner $250, the 2nd place winner $500, and the top prize winner $1000. The winners will be announced online via Twitter @iWantClips and on iWantBlog.com July 11.
