Kink.com Hires Gay Marketing Exec

YNOT – BDSM giant Kink.com has engaged Michael Stabile to oversee marketing for the Kink Men brand. Stabile has spent nearly a decade working in the industry, as an affiliate, a content producer and a writer. At Kink, he’ll lead a major push into the gay market.

“We’re excited to have him on board,” said John Sander, vice president of marketing for the San Francisco-based studio. “He’s done tremendous work in the past and has extensive experience in many different areas of the gay industry.”

Stabile is tasked with helping to grow the existing Kink Men brands, including BoundInPublic.com, BoundGods.com and NakedKombat.com. He also will develop new initiatives for Kink Men and oversee the launch of MenOnEdge.com later this month.

“I’ve worked on both sides of the affiliate divide, and I know what drives sales,” Stabile said. “I’ll be working directly over the next few months to develop tools and content to help Kink Men grow. Kink is unrivaled at what they do, and it’s one of the few areas of the industry that consistently converts for affiliates. It’s exciting.”

Stabile’s history in the gay industry includes work for companies like Hot House, Falcon and Channel 1 Releasing. He got his start in 2003 at NakedSword, where he ran the marketing department; later, as creative director, he produced the Tim and Roma Show and launched TheSword.com. In 2009, Stabile left NakedSword to work on a documentary about Falcon Studios founder Chuck Holmes. He has written about the industry for AVN and Cybersocket magazines, as well as for mainstream online publications like Salon and The Daily Beast. He does contract work for the industry on a limited basis.

“I’ve always wanted to work with Kink,” Stabile said. “They have their sights set firmly on the next incarnation of the porn industry. Despite the challenges the industry faces, I’m glad to be on a team that’s actively working toward the future.”

Gay affiliates may contact Stabile by email.
